COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

ABOUT ME
I am Ganna Taran, a psychologist and accredited Gestalt therapist working online across Ireland and in person in Tramore, co Waterford.
My path to psychology was not a straight one.
Before becoming a psychologist, I spent around ten years in corporate management. That experience taught me a great deal about people, responsibility, relationships, pressure and the ways work can affect our wellbeing.
Later, I chose to change direction and build my professional life around psychology and therapy.
I have also experienced migration and rebuilding everyday life in a new country. I know that starting again can involve much more than simply changing your address. It can affect your sense of identity, belonging, relationships, security and the picture you once had of your future.
These experiences are part of what I bring to my work, alongside my professional training, supervision and ongoing development.
My approach is warm, curious and respectful. I do not believe that a therapist should have all the answers. I see our work as a space where we can think together, notice what is happening and gradually develop a clearer understanding of what you need.
I believe therapy should help you become more connected with yourself and more able to make your own choices — rather than becoming dependent on the therapist for answers.
